Message	did test it once. I was about 45 miles from the nearest gas station when the light came on. The rest of the distance was on virtually flat highway and my speed didn't vary much from 70 mph. When I filled up I was surprised that I had nearly 3 gallons left. However, once the light came on at the start of this "test" it flickered on and off for a while, which suggests a false warning. Anyway I think the 4 gallon reserve, as indicated by the fuel light turning on, is a conservative figure, but variations car to car should be expected, of course. Chance favors the informed
